GAM Forum membership is an ongoing process of knowledge generation
Every year, a new group of customer-centric companies may join GAM Forum. There are consecutive membership cycles, each one lasting for two years. Admissions are considered throughout the calendar year, and prospect member firms can join GAM Forum upon acceptance. At the end of the first cycle, a member firm has the right to continue with the second one.
As GAM Forum accepts new member firms every year, there are overlapping membership cycles as shown below.
Take for example, a member firm joining GAM Forum in 2012. It will go through various phases of knowledge generation, and at the end of 2013 not only will it have a clear view of its GAM program health status, but it will also have developed a pool of successful practices to address future GAM challenges.
Every year starts with the collection of data from the member companies so as to kick off the research agenda, and ends with a three-day annual symposium that reflects on both the so far progress and the tasks for next year. In between, there are three GAM practice workshops hosted at the premises of our GAM practice partners and several educational webinars.
The activities and the key milestones of the first cycle are shown below.
For every GAM Forum member firm, a tailored and multidimensional case study will be developed in the second cycle, building on the GAM health check results and successful practices insights of the first one. Members can use the case study for training and people development, multiplication of GAM capabilities to other organizational units, and internal selling as well as external recognition as GAM practice leaders. A company is considered eligible to join the second cycle only if it has successfully completed the first one.
